Wood Types
We keep larges stock of Cypress, Mahogany and Mvule timber which is widely available for use in projects.
- Cypress is a softwood that is good for outdoor usage when treated, internal doors, flooring, roof cladding and joinery. We have a special imported European cypress that is has less knots and is prime grade and more structurally sound. This is the cheapest wood we have.
- Mahogany is a hardwood originally from Congo and is a good timber to be used doors, flooring, wood fronts and beams because of its hard nature. It has a dark rich color and can be easily stained. This is our second most expressive timber after Cypress.
- Mvule is a hardwood originally from Congo and is a good timber to be used doors, flooring and outdoor exposed surfaces. The timber secretes a natural oil that makes it very durable against the tough outdoor elements. It has a golden brown color that darkens with time and is our most premium wood.
